JUNE 2010

Festival du cinéma français

Every artist has their own imagination and universe, in the seventh addition of Festival du cinéma français, we offer to share this imagination and universe with you. A tribute to Serge Gainsbourg - exposing his multiple abilities as actor, director and composer through documentary and feature films - visiting childhood episodes of time, real and imaginary life confrontations, nostalgia, fantasy, truth and fabrication, humor, breathtaking sagas, romantic comedies, and endless journeys through the best French cinema has to offer.

AICE Australian Film Festival

Welcome to the seventh annual AICE Australian Film Festival in Israel. This year we celebrate the diversity of culture through film and bring iconic Australian stories to a wider audience. We are thrilled that the director of our opening film Balibo, Robert Connolly, will be joining us on this trip. Robert's vision for one of the most intriguing and harrowing stories in recent times has earned much acclaim in Australia and overseas and we are sure that the film will receive similar attention in Israel as a result of this festival.

Shoe Weekend

A weekend dedicated to one of life's essentials - SHOES. The Cinematheque is proud to host Shoofuni - the annual shoe fair showcasing Israeli shoe designers, shoe boutiques, and the shoe industry to the public. We of course did not forget the great shoe films from Cinderella to High Heels.

Let the Summer Begin!

Cinema-Youth is brought to you by Jerusalem's youngsters. From concept to production, the group was created to encourage the love of cinema and to become a part of a film community. We open the summer with a night dedicated to the great Tim Burton.
