Tokyo Ga

West Germany, USA 1985 | 92 minutes | German, Japanese | Hebrew subtitles

Wenders’ tribute to the great Japanese maverick, Yasujiru Ozu, who made 54 films – silent, black-and-white and color, up until his death in 1963. “The trip to Tokyo was in a way a pilgrimage,” says Wenders about the filmmaker who was so Japanese and yet so universal in his work.
